ნათლისღება - ეს არის დღე, როცა უფალმა ჩვენმა იესო ქრისტემ მდინარე იორდანიაში სიმდაბლით იოანე ნათლისმცემლისგან ნათელიღო და წყალი ხრწნილებისაგან განწმიდა, რათა მის მიერ ცოდვათა მოტევება მოენიჭებინა ჩვენთვის.
მდინარე იორდანე მსოფლიოს უწმიდეს მდინარედ ითვლება. ნათლისღების დღეს მდინარე აღმა მიედინება - ეს ხდება წელიწადში ერთხელ, ყოველ ნათლისღების დღესასწაულზე.
19იანვარს უფლის ნათლისღების დღეს, იერუსალიმის პატრიარქი მდინარე იორდანეს აკურთხებს და მასში სამგზის შთაფლავს ჯვარს,ჯვრის მესამედ შთაფვლისას, მდინარე იორდანე ჩერდება და რამდენიმე წუთის განმავლობაში წყალი საპირისპირო მიმართულებით მიედინება!!
