Crete is undeniably the skateboarding pearl of the Mediterranean: dry and sunny climate, impressive scenery, incredible local cuisine, skate-friendly locals and, most importantly, an overwhelming smattering of spots of all shapes and sizes. You don't have to look far to find a variety gigantic handrails, big hubbas, spacious plazas and even novelty pole jams, wallrides, bumps and curbs.
Our crew for this trip was perfectly balanced for any variety we encountered along the way. We had the always-down-for-skating-big-stuff Russian, Max Kruglov; American Sierra Fellers, tech wizard and manual pad ruler Dima Rodionov from Saint Petersburg; and all-round rippers Giorgio Zavos from Greece and Yura Renov from Moscow. Finally, we had the trip's team captain and Canada's living skateboard legend in the form of Chris Haslam.
