მდინარე მტკვრის მასშტაბური გაწმენდითი სამუშაოები ინტენსიურ რეჟიმში გრძელდება.
მარჯვენა სანაპიროზე, ბაქრაძის ქუჩის გაყოლებაზე, „ვეფხი და მოყმის“ ძეგლის მიმდებარე ტერიტორიიდან დიდუბის ხიდამდე, მდინარე მტკვარი და მისი კალაპოტი სპეციალური ტექნიკის მეშვეობით, წლების განმავლობაში დაგროვილი სხვადასხვა სახის ნარჩენისგან, ლამისგან, ლაქაშისგან და ა.შ. იწმინდება.
ტარდება კომპლექსური ღონისძიებები, რომელსაც თბილისის მერიისა და საქართველოს შინაგან საქმეთა სამინისტროს შესაბამისი სამსახურები უზრუნველყოფენ.
სამუშაოებში მონაწილეობას იღებენ ალპინისტებიც. მტკვრის მასშტაბური გაწმენდა პერმანენტული ხასიათისაა და ჯამში, დაახლოებით, 10 კმ-იანი მონაკვეთი დასუფთავდება.
ამ დროისათვის, თითქმის, სრულად გაწმენდილია მონაკვეთი - ორთაჭალის ჰესიდან „ვეფხი და მოყმის“ ძეგლის მიმდებარე ტერიტორიამდე.
შესაბამისი ღონისძიებების მიმდინარეობისას, დაცულია უსაფრთხოების ყველა ზომა.
