ევროკავშირი ვერ დაბლოკავს ჩრდილოეთის ნაკადის გაზსადენის მეორე ფაზის მშენებლობას, რომელმაც რუსული გაზი, ბალტიის ზღვის გავლით გერმანიამდე უნდა მიიტანოს.
როგორც "ვოლ სტრიტ ჟურნალს" ევროკომისიის წარმომადგენელმა განუცხადა, "ჩრდილოეთის ნაკადი 2"-ის შეჩერების ლეგალური საფუძველი არ არსებობს, რადგან ევროკავშირის რეგულაციები არ ვრცელდება გაზსადენის პროექტის ზღვის ნაწილზე.
როგორც ცნობილია, ევროკავშირის ათამდე წევრი ქვეყანა, პოლონეთის მეთაურობით, "ჩრდილოეთის ნაკადი 2"-ის დაბლოკვას ითხოვდა, რადგან იგი რუსული "გაზპრომის" გაზზე დამოკიდებულებას ზრდის.
გაზსადენის ამოქმედება 2019 წელს იგეგმება და იგი გააორმაგებს უკვე არსებული ორი გაზსადენის გამტარუნარიანობას.
