მართლმადიდებელი ეკლესია წმინდა მოციქულ ანდრია პირველწოდებულის ხსენების დღეს აღნიშნავს.
კათოლიკოს-პატრიარქი, უწმინდესი და უნეტარესი ილია მეორე სიონის ღვთისმშობლის მიძინების სახელობის ტაძარში პარაკლისს ატარებს.
სახარების მიხედვით, წმინდა მოციქული ანდრია პირველწოდებული წმინდა პეტრე მოციქულის ძმა იყო. უფალმა მოციქულთა შორის პირველად ანდრიას მოუწოდა. ამიტომაც მას პირველწოდებული ეწოდა.
საქართველოში წამოსვლამდე წმ. ანდრიას ღვთისმშობელმა ამცნო, რომ მის წილხვედრ ქვეყანაში უნდა ექადაგა.
წმინდა მოციქული პირველად ქართლის ტერიტორიაზე, დიდაჭარაში შემოვიდა. მას თან ყოვლადწმინდა ღვთისმშობლის მიერ ბოძებული ხელთუქმნელი ღვთისმშობლის ხატი ჰქონდა.
