საქართველოს ფინანსთა სამინისტროს საგამოძიებო სამსახურმა, შემოსავლების სამსახურის საბაჟო დეპარტამენტთან თანამშრომლობით, გატარებული ოპერატიულ - სამძებრო და საგამოძიებო მოქმედებების შედეგად, საქართველოს საბაჟო საზღვარზე, საქონლის გადაადგილებასთან დაკავშირებული წესის დარღვევის ფაქტზე, აზერბაიჯანის ორი მოქალაქე დააკავა.
გამოძიების ინფორმაციით, რომ ბრალდებულებმა, საბაჟო - გამშვები პუნქტი „წითელი ხიდი“- ს გავლით, გადმოკვეთეს საქართველოს სახელმწიფო საზღვარი, რა დროსაც, საბაჟო კონტროლისგან მალულად, საქართველოს ტერიტორიაზე, საბაჟო წესების დარღვევით გადმოიტანეს დეკლარირებას დაქვემდებარებული, განსაკუთრებით დიდი ოდენობით, 1 394.38 გრამის, ოქროს საიუველირო ნაკეთობები, რომლის საბაჟო ღირებულებამ 676 336.63 ლარი შეადგინა. საქმეზე მიმდინარეობს გამოძიება საქართველოს სისხლის სამართლის კოდექსის 214-ე მუხლის მეორე ნაწილით, რაც სასჯელის სახით ითვალისწინებს თავისუფლების აღკვეთას 5 - დან 7 წლამდე ვადით.
