Court hearings on the subject of unlawful revocation of Iberia TV broadcasting license continue. Today, yet another witness for the prosecution testified at Tbilisi City Court. Dimitri Kitoshvili, former chairman of the National Communications Commission, answered the investigators’ questions. According to him, Zurab Adeishvili had developed a specific plan that would result in revocation of Iberia TV license. Kitoshvili also claims that ex-Prosecutor General had tasked him with transferring the license to a trusted person – namely, Kitoshvili’s friend Davit Kakauridze. In 2006, the license was again transferred, this time to Bidzina Nizharadze. In accordance to Adeishvili’s plan, Soso Mgeladze became its eventual and final owner in 2007. The next hearing on the case will take place on July 6.
The witness has personally and unambiguously confirmed that the plan to revoke the broadcasting company’s license was concocted by Zurab Adeishvili, and he was also the one giving out instructions. That plan envisioned infiltration of the company’s founders by a trusted person, who would have reorganized the company in a way that would allow distribution of shares among claimants.
