Polignano a Mare, Italy, is a town on precipitous cliffs and hosts the Cliff Diving World Series in the sport's best European destination. Divers plunge off a private balcony into the Adriatic Sea, a backdrop as exciting as the dives themselves.
After joining the Red Bull Cliff Diving World Series in 2015, Polignano a Mare's now a regular stop for the cliff diving elite, and it's easy to see why. The town's perched on the cliffs surrounding a turquoise cove, creating a natural ampitheatre for the crowds who flock to watch the divers in action and giving the event an unbeatable atmosphere. Polignano a Mare delivered a big upset in 2016, when world champion Gary Hunt failed to make the final and Artem Silchenko delivered a final-round masterclass to bag his only win of the year, so expect a similarly thrilling visit to the Adriatic this year.
