თეატრი დღესასწაულია, თეატრალური ფესტივალი კი ორმაგი დღესასწაული. მას მართლაც აქვს ეს ფუნქცია - იგი კარნავალია, მაგრამ ეს მისი მხოლოდ ერთ-ერთი ჰიპოსტაზია და არა ერთადერთი. მას სხვა დანიშნულებაც გააჩნია: აქტუალობა, კრიტიკა, სპექტაკლებში ქვეყანაში არსებული კონტექსტის მთავარ პერსონაჟად შემოყვანა და ა.შ. უკვე რამდენიმე წელია ჩვენს ქვეყანაში თბილისის საერთაშორისო თეატრალური ფესტივალი აღინიშნება. წლევანდელი ფესტივალის დასაწყისიც საკმარისია და აქ თავმოყრილი ადამიანების რაოდენობა, რომ თამამად აღვნიშნოთ, საქართველოში თეატრალურ კულტურას დასასრული ჯერ კიდევ არ უწერია.
