ზუგდიდში ამერიკული ფეხბურთის კლუბი ჩამოყალიბდა. კლუბის წევრების განცხადებით, მათი მიზანია სპორტის აღნიშნული სახეობის განვითარება და პოპულარიზაცია სამეგრელო-ზემო სვანეთის რეგიონში.
მათივე თქმით, ზუგდიდის მერიამ სპორტსმენებს სავარჯიშოდ სტადიონი უკვე გამოუყო, თუმცა ელემენტალური ინვენტარების შესაძენად სახსრები არ აქვთ.
ზუგდიდის მერიაში კლუბის ჩამოყალიბებას მიესალმებიან, თუმცა აცხადებენ, რომ 2018 წლის ბიუჟეტი უკვე გაწერილია და მიმდინარე წელს კლუბს ფინანსურად ვერ დაეხმარებიან.
