საქართველოში შემწეობის მიმღებთა რაოდენობა ბოლო 2თვეში რეკორდულად - 67,266 ადამიანით გაიზარდა, რაც ასეთ მოკლე პერიოდში ყველაზე მაღალი ზრდაა. 2021 წლის აგვისტოს მდგომარეობით, საარსებო შემწეობის ბენეფიციართა სიაში 622,923 მოქალაქე იყო, რაც მთლიანად საქართველოს მოსახლეობის 16.7%-ია. შედარებისთვის, 2020 წლის ანალოგიურ პერიოდში საარსებო შემწეობაზე 129,835 ადამიანით ნაკლები იყო დამოკიდებული.
სტატისტიკის თანახმად, 2021 წლის აგვისტოში სოციალურად დაუცველებზე 42,482,172 ლარის კომპენსაცია გაიცა, რაც თითოეულ სოციალურად დაუცველზე თვეში 68 ლარის კომპენსაციას შეადგენს.
სტატისტიკის მიხედვით, საქართველოში სიღარიბის ზრდა ბევრად უფრო მწვავეა რეგიონებში, სადაც მოწყვლადი მოსახლეობის რაოდენობამ 3.8 პროცენტული პუნქტით იმატა და 27.5% გახდა. ქალაქებში კი სიღარიბის აბსოლუტური სიღარიბე 0.7 პროცენტული პუნქტით 17.1%-მდე გაიზარდა.
