გერმანიის დედაქალაქი საერთაშორისო კინოფესტივალს მასპინძლობს. ბერლინის 67-ე კინოფორუმის გახსნის ცერემონიაზე რეჟისორებმა, მსახიობებმა, პროდიუსერებმა და კინოკრიტიკოსებმა მთელი მსოფლიოდან მოიყარეს თავი.
ფესტივალი წელს ფრანგი პროდიუსერისა და რეჟისორის ეტიენ კომანის ფილმით ‘’ჯანგო ‘ გაიხსნა. ეს რეჟისორის დებიუტია ბერლინში.
საკონკურსო პროგრამაში ოქროსა და "ვერცხლის დათვების" მოსაპოვებლად 18 ფილმი იბრძოლებს . წელს ბერლინის საერთაშორისო კინოფესტივალის თავმჯდომარე ჰოლანდიელი რეჟისორი და პროდიუსერი პოლ ვერჰოვენია.
