გადაწყვეტილება რამდენიმე წუთის წინ გახდა ცნობილი. ბათუმის საქალაქო სასამართლოში „თანასწორობის მოძრაობის“ წევრების ლევან ბერიანიძისა და თორნიკე კუსიანის სასამართლო პროცესი ლგბტ აქტივისტების პროტესტის ფონზე დაიწყო.
აქციის მონაწილეები სოლიდარობას უცხადებენ დაკავებულებს და სახელმწიფო სტრუქტურებს მიმართავენ, ანალოგიური შემთხვევების პრევენციისთვის ზომები მიიღონ.
სასამართლო სხდომა 4 საათის განმავლობაში მიმდინარეობდა. მოწმის სახით დაიკითხა პოლიციის სამი თანამშრომელი, ასევე შეკითხვები დაუსვეს ორ ტრანსგენდერს. ისინი ამტკიცებენ, რომ პოლიციის მხრიდან ადგილი ჰქონდა ფიზიკურ და სიტყვიერ შეურაცხყოფას, თუმცა სამართალდამცველები საწინააღმდეგო ვერსიებზე საუბრობენ. მათი განცხადებით, პოლიციელებს შეურაცხყოფა თავად დაკავებულებმა მიაყენეს.
