თბილისის ზღვის მიმდებარე ტერიტორიაზე ახალი ზოოპარკის მშენებლობა გრძელდება. 48 ჰექტარ მიწის ფართობზე განთავსებულ ზოოლოგიურ პარკში არაერთი ინფრასტრუქტურული პროექტი განხორციელდა. ამჟამად მიმდინარეობს ორი მთავარი ზამთრის ვოლიერის მშენებლობა, რომლის დასრულებაც წლის ბოლომდე იგეგმება. ახალი ზოოპარკი ბიო-გეოგრაფიული ოლქების მიხედვით დაიყოფა, სადაც ორი მთავარი მიმართულება კავკასიური და აფრიკული სავანა იქნება.
დაგეგმილია კოლექციის განახლება და გადაშენების პირას მყოფი ცხოველების გამრავლება. ახალი ზოოპარკი საკუთარი ინიციატივით არალეგალური ტყვეობიდან გათავისუფლებული ცხოველების რეაბილიტაციის ფუნქციასაც შეითავსებს.
